Demographic information of men included in previous versions of the Partin tables and in current project
This table is based on the demographic information table presented in Makarov et al. (2007). The last column has been added for a better comparison with our current dataset.
Interesting distribution in the Partin data (2007) column. Patients are predominantly white. I wonder if this reflects the actual distribution of prostate cancer by ethnic origin in the US or if it is significantly biased by the availability of health care (I mean that patients without health insurance would not presumably present in this data).
It is clear that there are significant differences between the US and UK distributions on all variables.
The purpose of the present blog is to show the progress of the project titled "Improved pathological stage tables for the prostate cancer" ran by the RGU School of Computing in collaboration with the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
